Launched in Arbil, on Monday, the third session of the Conference on private international oil and gas with the participation of local and foreign companies and the economic and political personalities.
A statement by the Kurdistan Regional Government received by all of Iraq [where] a copy of "opening session of the conference which will be held over four days, shared by the head of the provincial government and ministers from the provincial government and Turkey, including Oil Minister Taner Yildiz [who arrived in Baghdad yesterday, In addition to politicians and businessmen from Kurdistan and abroad. The conference comes in light of the intensification of the dispute between Baghdad and Erbil on the recent agreement with Turkey in Mudug oil pipeline and exported without the consent of the federal government.
The Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz has arrived in Baghdad yesterday to discuss with officials about the agreement and met with Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Hussain al-Shahristani, who said in turn that any process to extract oil or exported could not be made without the approval of the central government in Baghdad, and of the Ministry of Oil exclusively.
