According to a member of the Commission on oil and energy parliamentary Awad al-Awadi, that members of the Commission on oil and energy insisted that be after the holiday legislative clear vision for the oil and gas law, pointing to the existence of approved genuine and professional the law away from the concerns at some of the blocks.

The Iraqi government announced in the (28 August 2011) for ratification of the draft law of oil and gas and decided to submit them to Parliament for approval while the declared Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy, Hussein al-Shahristani, in (2 July 2011) that the government has introduced some amendments to the draft oil law, the long-awaited and reviewed by the Energy Commission to the Council of Ministers.

The draft law of oil and gas has raised mixed reactions to the stance of most of the Kurdistan Alliance and the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region.
