He asked the representative of Iraq permanent in the United Nations Mohammed Ali Hakim , Wednesday, to extend the work of the United Nations Mission for a year, stressing that Iraq pay attention to the work, "UNAMI".

Hakim said during a speech today at a meeting of the Security Council to discuss the report of the United Nations Mission for Iraq and I followed Alsumaria News, that "Iraq attached great importance to the work of UNAMI in the country, and reaffirm the vital role of the United Nations Mission."


Hakim added that "Iraq is required to extend the mandate of the United Nations Mission for another year ends on July 31, 2016".

The United Nations working in Iraq at the request of the Government of Iraq to support national development on the political, electoral and humanitarian efforts levels. The United Nations is providing advice and support to the Government of Iraq and its people and is working to build the capacity of individuals and institutions during the period of democratic transition.

Htaatolv the United Nations in Iraq from the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) and the United Nations country team, which includes twenty and agency of the United Nations is currently working in Iraq.
