The Kurdish delegation heads to Baghdad to discuss the referendum
BAGHDAD / The Kurdish delegation on Saturday went to Baghdad to discuss the latest stand with Iraqi officials on a unilateral referendum scheduled for next Monday.
A source familiar with the "Iraq News" that the delegation went to Baghdad shortly through Erbil airport, indicating that the delegation consists of representatives of the parties some Kurds, Turkomans, Christians and Isidin.
The source added that "the delegation is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Haider Abadi and a number of political parties, pointing out that the delegation will discuss the latest positions with Baghdad on the referendum on independence of the Kurdistan region.
The Council of the referendum of the Kurdistan region announced last Thursday, that the referendum process will take place on schedule, stressing at the same time keep the doors of dialogue with Baghdad open.

He explained that "the coalition asked the delegation of the Kurdistan Region to postpone the referendum, but the delegation rejected the request and stressed that the region has been in the referendum," noting that "the coalition rejects the referendum in toto."
