Parliament opens the door for nomination for the post of President of the Republic and sets the conditions

The Iraqi Council of Representatives on Monday opened the door for candidacy for the post of President of the Republic, while specifying the conditions that must be met in it.

"According to articles (2 and 3) of Law No. ( Cool

for the year 2012 (the law of the provisions for candidacy for the post of President of the Republic), the House of Representatives announces the opening of the nomination for the post of President of the Republic," the Information Service of the Parliament said in a statement.

The statement added that "those wishing to nominate those who meet the conditions must submit their written requests accompanied by official documents proving the availability of these conditions with their CV to the Presidency of the House of Representatives and delivered to the Legal Department in the House of Representatives - the Palace of Conferences during the times from 9 am to (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays) approval (18, 19 and 23/9/2018), to meet a delivery receipt proving the submission of the application and the date of submission and accompanying documents.

According to the statement, the nomination for the post of President of the Republic on the basis of Article (1) of the law requires the following:

First: Iraqi by birth and Iraqi parents.

Second: full eligibility and completed the forty years of age.

Third: He has a good reputation and political experience and is known for integrity, integrity, justice and loyalty to the homeland.

Fourthly, his academic achievement should not be less than the initial university certificate recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq.

Fifth: Not convicted of a crime that violates honor.

Sixthly: It should not be covered by the provisions of the accountability and justice procedures or any procedures to replace them.

The presidency of the House of Representatives, that "the election of the President of the Republic will take place no later than the end of 2/10/2018 in application of Article (72 / II / B) of the Constitution."
