"

The President of the Republic is considered a ceremonial honorary in Iraq since 2003 and has no executive powers. Article 71 of the Constitution outlines the President's powers with ten points: the amnesty of a recommendation by the Prime Minister, with the exception of the private right and those convicted of international crimes, Financial and administrative, as well as the ratification of international treaties and conventions after the approval of the House of Representatives, and the ratification of it after fifteen days from the date of receipt.

The President of Iraq shall also ratify and enact the laws enacted by the Council of Representatives. It shall be ratified after fifteen days from the date of its receipt. It also has the authority to invite the elected House of Representatives to convene within a period not exceeding fifteen days from the date of ratification of the election results.
