A high-level Kurdish delegation will visit Baghdad after Eid al-Adha, a political source said Saturday.
The source said that "it is scheduled to visit a high-level Kurdish delegation in Baghdad after the Eid al-Adha holiday, to search for solutions to the contentious issues between the governments of Baghdad and the Kurdistan region," noting that "the delegation will carry some proposals to resolve those differences."
He added that "the delegation will discuss with Baghdad five points of controversy, led by salaries of the region's employees, in addition to the region's share of the federal budget, oil funds exported from Kurdistan, as well as the deployment of Peshmerga forces in disputed areas, and the future of Kirkuk province," pointing to " Erbil has a desire to resolve all these differences amicably. "
The source stressed that "the authorities of Kurdistan adheres to all the rights granted to the region in the Constitution, in addition to the provisions of agreements concluded with the political forces in Baghdad."
A delegation from the central government in Baghdad visited Erbil province on July 24 to discuss the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad and the oil file in particular.
