On Saturday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee suggested passing the budget next Tuesday after resolving the dispute over the region’s share within the next 48 hours and fixing it in the budget.
A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Ahmed Hama, said to / the information / that "all the articles and paragraphs of the budget have been decided, except for the region’s share, which the Shiite blocs objected to and has not yet been decided."
He added that "the dialogues are continuing within parliament and it is hoped to reach a final agreement within the next 48 hours," noting that "if it is resolved, it is likely that the budget will be passed next Tuesday."
Hama explained that "the government did not record any observations on the region’s share and the objection within the Shiite blocs."

A source in the Parliamentary Finance Committee denied that there was a meeting for the committee tomorrow, Saturday, regarding the discussion of the draft federal budget law for 2021.
"There is no meeting for the committee tomorrow, and its meetings will resume next Sunday," the source told Al-Furat News Agency. The source suggested "holding a parliament session on voting on the budget at the end of next week." The Parliamentary Finance Committee held its 45th meeting last Wednesday, in which it resumed its discussions on the draft federal budget bill for 2021.
Committee member Shirwan Mirza expected in a press statement that next week the vote on the draft budget law will be witnessed after the completion of the discussion of most of the budget articles. He added, “There are some simple matters that the Finance Committee will complete in addition to the issue of the Kurdistan region’s share of the budget.” "The next few days will witness the decision of the region’s share."
Mirza explained, "There is flexibility from the political parties towards the issue of the Kurdistan region’s share of the budget, and I envision that there will be a joint agreement during the coming days to resolve it." ##########

The Parliamentary Finance Committee expected next week to witness the vote on the draft federal budget law for the year 2021, confirming the continuation of discussing the articles of the draft law.
Committee member Sherwan Mirza said in a press statement, "Next week will witness the vote on the draft federal budget law for 2021 after the completion of discussion of most of the budget articles." He added, "There are some simple matters that the Finance Committee will complete in addition to the issue of the Kurdistan region's share of the budget," noting that "the next few days will witness the decision of the region’s share."
Mirza explained, "There is flexibility from the political parties towards the issue of the Kurdistan region’s share of the budget, and I envision that there will be a joint agreement during the coming days to resolve it." The negotiating delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government, headed by Qubad Talabani, Vice President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, made several visits to Baghdad and held a series of meetings with officials in the federal government and Parliament to discuss the region's share of the federal budget for 2021.
