{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Parliamentary Finance Committee identified, on Monday, two options for calculating the rise in the price of a barrel of oil in the federal budget for 2021.



A member of the committee, Faisal Al-Issawi, told Al-Furat News that it is possible to reformulate the budget after the oil barrel rose to $ 65, indicating that the committee’s view of this increase is that it is temporary because there is a lot of demand in the winter. 


He added, "We also look at the reports of international organizations and the International Monetary Fund to determine whether oil is expected to stabilize at a high or low price."


Prices of April Brent crude futures rose 1.31% on the London Stock Exchange, reaching a peak of $ 63.27 a barrel.


The price of Brent crude exceeded $ 63 a barrel last time in January 2020.


Regarding the negotiating delegation of the Kurdistan region, which will start its negotiations today on the budget, Al-Issawi explained, "The region's article for the delivery of oil to the federal government is in the budget and we hope that the negotiating meeting today will resolve The matter is to vote on the budget. "

It is hoped that the negotiating delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government, headed by Qubad Talabani, Vice President of the Regional Government, will begin its meetings in the capital, Baghdad, today, Monday, on the draft federal budget law for 2021 and the oil file.


The delegation of the Kurdistan region, headed by Talabani, arrived yesterday afternoon, Sunday, to the capital, Baghdad, to complete negotiations with the Parliamentary Finance Committee and the Iraqi political blocs and parties regarding the region’s share in the draft federal budget law.


A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Sherwan Mezra, said, "The delegation will meet with the Kurdish representatives in the Parliamentary Finance Committee and will discuss the articles on the Kurdistan region’s share of the budget."
