The head of the "Iraqis" coalition, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, assured the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, the support of the agreement reached by the governments of Baghdad and Erbil regarding the 2021 budget.
Barzani's media office said in a statement that the latter "received the head of the National Wisdom Movement and the Iraqi Alliance, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, and in the meeting they discussed the latest developments in the situation in Iraq, in addition to discussing relations between the Kurdistan region and the federal government."
According to the statement, Al-Hakim emphasized, "We consider the Kurdistan region our friend and ally, and the constitution must be the decisive factor in solving the outstanding problems between the regional government and the federal government." He continued, "We support the agreement that was reached between the regional government and the federal government regarding the general budget of Iraq for the year 2021," adding, "We hope that the vote on the draft budget will be held in the House of Representatives."
The statement pointed out that "the president of the Kurdistan government has reiterated that the region always wants a radical solution to the problems with the federal government on the basis of securing the constitutional rights and entitlements of the Kurdistan region in a manner that preserves its entity and takes into account its federal privacy, while respecting the principles of partnership and balance."

Sabri added that "the delay is also due to the existence of structural problems in the budget and major changes that the federal government may not be able to implement and implement," noting that "approving the budget will be either at the end of this month or at the beginning of next month."
