A parliamentary source said, on Sunday, that the voting session on the 2021 federal budget has been postponed until further notice.

The source said to / Mawazine News /, "The House of Representatives postponed the session to vote on the budget, which was scheduled to take place today."

The source pointed out that "several disagreements, most notably the dollar exchange rate, hindered the holding of the voting session on the 2021 general budget.

A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee of Al-Murabd, Ikhlas Al-Dulaimi, revealed that Parliament had postponed its session to pass the budget for another notice, due to most likely (Shiite - Shiite disagreement), about paragraphs including loans and the dollar exchange rate.


Al-Dulaimi, who is also a leader in the Democratic Party of Al-Murabd, said that the session for passing the budget may take place on Monday or tomorrow Tuesday, and there is no specific time for it until the dispute over the aforementioned paragraphs is resolved.

And on the dispute with the Kurds, she said that the issue has been resolved after the agreement to produce the region’s oil by 460 thousand barrels of oil, from which the cost of production and operation is deducted, transport, petrodollars, domestic consumption and the delivery of the remainder, as well as the delivery of non-oil revenues in coordination with the two governments and the Office of Financial Supervision Baghdad and the region, after which the federal government is committed To hand over Kurdistan dues.

She indicated that "Parliament has no right to reduce the price of the dollar, and we are afraid of changing the price, which may lead to the government being challenged in the court by the budget law," adding that it is possible to pressure the central bank to reduce the exchange rate and not through the budget.
