Sheikh Sabah Al-Saadi, a former deputy for at least two sessions for the Islamic Virtue Party, before he split and joined the Sadr movement later, made rare statements that can be described as the first official explanation of Al-Sadr's plans to flood Baghdad with convoys of protests coming from all cities, with the aim of objecting to the major Iraqi parties and the Supreme Court as of next Saturday, and paving the way for the legalization of preventing several groups from participating in the upcoming elections, along the lines of the de-Baathification law.
Commenting on former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's fears of the Sadrists' revenge, al-Saadi, a well-known former deputy, said that the current "does not speak in the dark and will not conspire against anyone. Rather, whoever we ask, we will tell him that we are coming.”
In televised statements, Al-Saadi described "Al-Maliki as not only an enemy of the Sadrists, but an enemy of Iraq," he said.  He enumerated the Sadrists' accusations against the most prominent leaders of the Shiite framework, including causing the fall of the city of Mosul to ISIS, and causing the "Speicher massacre" that took place when he was prime minister, in which the terrorist organization executed about 1,500 trainees in the army, as well as the recent audio leaks attributed to the owners. It included his talk about the establishment of armed groups, and plans to storm Najaf.
Al-Saadi said that "the Sadrists' revolution has become a revolution supported by a broad national trend, but it will remain peaceful," stressing that "trials will pursue the corrupt and those affiliated with abroad, after the dissolution of parliament demanded by Al-Sadr," stressing that the supposed trials "will be in accordance with the law and without any bloodshed."
Senior sources in Erbil and Baghdad confirmed that the Supreme Court will issue a decision at any moment to dissolve parliament, to satisfy al-Sadr, whose followers collect millions of signatures to dissolve parliament.
Al-Saadi believed that the judiciary is facing a difficult test: "Will it stand with the people's revolution or not?"
This comes at a time when the representative of the Sadrist movement in Germany, Hassan Al-Zarkani, revealed a law similar to de-Baathification, which will prevent several groups from participating in the upcoming elections. Al-Zarkani stated that it is not acceptable for the corrupt, or those affiliated with abroad, to participate in the administration of Iraq and aspire to seize power.
