Maliki and UN Advisor discuss elections and CH VII issuesPosted: November 19, 2012 in Iraq: Chapter VII

Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, on Monday, the Iraqi government is striving to arrange fair and transparent elections throughout Iraq and especially in the province of Kirkuk, while the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations recent keenness to remove Iraq from under Chapter VII.
Maliki said in a statement on the sidelines of a meeting of the Representative of the United Nations, Martin Kobler his official office, today, and received “Alsumaria News” copy, “The government is striving to arrange fair and transparent elections throughout Iraq and especially in the province of Kirkuk.”
For his part, the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations UN is keen to “remove Iraq from under Chapter VII,” stressing “the support of the United Nations for Iraq’s efforts in this area,” according to the statement.
The Iraqi Council of Ministers announced, (30 October 2012), for determining the twentieth day of April of the year 2013 date for the next provincial election is organized into a Region.
He called Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, in (4 October 2012), the members of the Electoral Commission to hold provincial elections on time and failure to respond to the pressure, with members of the Commission expressed optimism about the possibility of the end of preparations for the local elections in the fastest time.
He visited the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Martin Kobler, (16 October 2012), the province of Kirkuk, and held a meeting with their portfolios Necmettin cream and head of the provincial council Hassan Turan and Turkmen group in the provincial council.
