BAGHDAD / Center Brief for the Iraqi Media Network (IMN ) - The parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations, said Friday that the absence of most of the members of the committee at a meeting on Thursday led to not to answer questions of Representatives on the Convention on the freedom of navigation in the Khawr Abd Allah, indicating that the agreement will be again if the healing of the committee members.
Committee member said Nada al-Jubouri's (IMN ) That "the postponement of putting the Convention on freedom of navigation in the Khawr Abd Allah in the House of Representatives yesterday came not to attend the majority of the members of the Foreign Relations Committee because of the boycott and deployment led to the failure to respond to questions of Representatives objectors to the Convention was therefore claim to postpone asking the Convention".
Jubouri said that "the Convention will go again for a vote in the House of Representatives after the healing presence of members of the Foreign Relations Committee," noting that "the Convention governing navigation in the Khawr Abd Allah between Iraq and Kuwait through a joint venture company formed for later."
Iraqi bloc demanded free yesterday, Thursday, the presidency of the parliament not to include the law on ratification of the agreement between the Governments of Iraq and Kuwait concerning the regulation of navigation in the Khawr Abd Allah.
The Iraqi government approved on 30 January last agreement with Kuwait concerning the organization of navigation in the Khawr Abd Allah, overlooking the Gulf, after a long political debate between the two lasted for more than two years.
According to the terms of the agreement, Iraq and Kuwait will form a management committee jointly chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport on the Iraqi side and Undersecretary of Ministry of Transport for the Kuwaiti side and membership of an equal number of specialists from both sides, where will this committee tasks organize and coordinate the navigation on the waterway in the Khor Abdullah and develop a plan joint to ensure the safety of navigation in the waterway and the approval of maintenance work Kaltusah and deepening and the development of guidelines and hydrographic survey work and recovered Aguarq. And the costs of these works equally between the parties to the Convention.
