Turkey: World Bank Supports measures the central bank in the restructuring of State-owned banks

Tomorrow Press / BAGHDAD: The Central Bank of Iraq, Tuesday, that the steps followed to restructure the Iraqi banking system is going according to schedule nor the health of the presence of foot-dragging, pointing out that the International Monetary Fund expressed satisfaction with the efforts of the Iraqi Central restructure the bank rational and Mesopotamia.
The central bank governor said Abdul Basit Turki for "tomorrow's Press," "The central bank implemented a schedule globally to accomplish the restructuring of the Iraqi banking system in collaboration with the World Bank and consult destinations banking world in order to correct and develop the work of banking systems of Iraq and improving the financial performance of Iraq."
He said Turkey that "the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund confirmed via its semi-annual support for the pursuit of the Iraqi Central Bank goal of market liberalization of foreign exchange and what has been taken recent steps to simplify the rules of the market regulators," stressing that "the Council expressed satisfaction with the progress made by the central bank recently the context of strengthening banking supervision and efforts to restructure the bank good and Mesopotamia. "
Turki said that "the restructuring of these banks will contribute to providing one of the ten points accredited to the World Trade Organization (WTO) to put Iraq as part of the list of countries supporting استمار and for attracting capital."
And the Iraqi banking sector suffers from a significant decline in the banking performance and a severe shortage in the banking institutions where the number of government banks seven banks with 32 waged banks restricted transactions.
