Tomorrow Press / Baghdad: Ministry of Commerce announced, Wednesday, that the minister Khairallah Hassan Babiker will head the Iraqi delegation to the ministerial meetings of the 29 session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation "COMCEC."

A statement from the minister's office, Wednesday, that "the meetings will be launched for the period (18-21) this month in the Turkish city of Istanbul under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Turkey and the presence of ministers of trade and money from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and institutions involved in economic activities and trade emanating from the organization."

The statement noted that "the Iraqi delegation will include the ministries of trade, transport, finance and industry, minerals and Tourism and Antiquities and the National Investment Commission and the Central Bank of Iraq."

The statement stressed that "during the meeting will discuss the new strategy of the COMCEC, which are based on the principles of mobility and consolidate solidarity and the promotion of governance and strategic efforts are focused on areas of cooperation COMCEC the tourism trade, transport communications agriculture funding and Altejev from poverty."

He added that the "COMCEC strategy provides a clear mechanism for implementation of this strategy by teams working tools and project management."

He pointed out that he "will discuss issues of economic and commercial interest between the member states of the Organization, including the global food crisis that led to the high prices of staple crops and strategic grains as wheat, rice, sugar and Tzbdb selling prices of crude oil and the implications for the economic development of Islamic countries, both the exporting and importing those goods changes and economic developments and the global financial crisis and prospects for the promotion and development of intra-regional trade and the establishment of Islamic trade fairs and specialized exhibitions. "

The meetings will address the research areas of cooperation in priority sectors, including the promotion of transport and communications and the development of a sustainable tourism sector, competitive and increasing the productivity of the agricultural sector and the sustainability of food security as well as discuss the subject of increased flows of foreign investment in the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
