He urged members of the Security Council on Baghdad and Erbil to reach agreement on all outstanding issues between them, including energy exports and the sharing of resources in line with Iraq's international obligations.

The Kurdistan began last month to sell the first shipment of oil that has been pumped through a new pipeline runs from the fields in the region to the Turkish port of Ceyhan on the Mediterranean.

The new members of the Security Council invited all political entities to work together towards an inclusive political process in a timely manner aimed at strengthening Iraq's national unity, sovereignty and independence.



They also called on Iraq's leaders to engage as soon as possible to form a government that will represent the will of the Iraqi people and sovereignty. They believed that Iraq could work, through its democratic institutions and cooperation with the Iraqi society, to address the challenges facing the country, including in the interest of all Iraqis.

The new members of their emphasis on supporting the efforts of the Iraqi government to help meet the security needs of the entire population of Iraq, especially in light of the difficult security situation existing at the present time.

They affirmed their support for the efforts of the Government of Iraq to engage the leaders of local civil society in Anbar, and calls for a conference on the situation in Anbar, and urged urged the Government of Iraq to continue to work with the United Nations Mission to help Iraq (UNAMI) and humanitarian agencies to ensure the delivery of humanitarian relief to those Iraqis in need of it.

The members of the Security Council in their statement that "any act of violence or terrorism can not reverse the path towards peace, democracy and reconstruction in Iraq, and based on the rule of law and respect for human rights and which is supported by the people and Government of Iraq and the international community."

They said, "Member States that they must ensure compliance with the measures taken to combat terrorism with their obligations under international law, particularly with regard to human rights, refugee and humanitarian law."



As mentioned members of the Security Council also Member States of their obligations towards the implementation and enforcement of financial sanctions targeted the arms embargo and the travel ban imposed on the organization of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant under the sanctions regime pursuant to resolutions   No. 1267 and No. 1989.
