World Bank confirms support for Iraq in fighting corruption

Head of the Integrity Committee, Judge Ezzat Tawfik Jafar, discussed with a delegation from the World Bank the future projects of the SAIs.
Jafar said during the meeting in a statement to the Commission that "the state of harmony and complementarity in the work of these bodies, which complement each other, stressing the" need of these organs to support the three legislative, executive and judicial authorities. "
He expressed his "optimism about the positive messages received by the Authority from these authorities, which express their willingness to assist the regulatory bodies, and to overcome the difficulties that faced the work of a courier."
The statement added that "the two sides discussed during the meeting projects and drafts of laws proposed by the body, which tries to develop the legal system against corruption, as well as those that require the current reality of the country's approval; and harmonization of the requirements of the United Nations Convention against Corruption."
For its part, the World Bank delegation expressed "its readiness to provide the necessary support for the future projects of the Commission, such as support for its efforts to develop the contents of the national strategy to combat corruption, and the National Corruption Index, in cooperation with a number of other national regulatory bodies."
