Minister of Planning: the date of the general census of the population will be the end of 2020

The Ministry of Planning, on Wednesday, the date of the next census, indicating that it was directed to provide all the local and international potential for the success of the census.
"The date of the general population census will be started by the end of 2020," Minister of Planning Nouri Sabah al-Dulaimi said in a statement.
He added that he "direct the preparations for this, and provide all the local and international potential for the success of the census."
The Ministry of Planning announced in 2013 that the reasons behind the failure to implement the census of the population in Iraq are political reasons, not technical or administrative.
The last census in Iraq was in 1997, and showed that the population is about 19 million people except the provinces of the Kurdistan region, officials estimated at the time the number of souls of the region by three million people.
