Cabinet votes on emergency project loan to support social stability in Iraq

The Council of Ministers voted on the emergency project loan to support social stability in Iraq, and voted on the law of accession of the Republic of Iraq to the Convention on the Recognition of Foreign Arbitral Awards.
“The cabinet held its regular session today under the chairmanship of Haider al-Abbadi, and coincided with the start of the farmers’ harvest of the wheat crop, the council directed the farmers to pay their dues within two weeks,” the prime minister’s office said in a statement.
The Council also voted on the report of the Republic of Iraq on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and voted on the law of accession of the Republic of Iraq to the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (New York 1958).
The vote was taken on the emergency project loan to support social stability and steadfastness in Iraq. The council voted on the two phases of the Basrah water project and the second phase irrigation project.
The Cabinet discussed the regulations related to investment and amend its instructions, especially in the housing sector to launch major projects in this sector and encourage investors to save hundreds of thousands of jobs in all Iraqi provinces and reduce unemployment and provide a decent life for citizens.
