Foreign Ministry of Kuwait: Iraqi compensation mechanism of Kuwait going on a regular basis

Deputy Foreign Minister Khalid Al-Jarallah said on Thursday that the Iraqi compensation mechanism for Kuwait is going on a regular basis, expressing Kuwait's readiness to hear the Iraqi view regarding any other mechanism.

Al-Watan newspaper said that after the participation of the Omani embassy in the country on the occasion of the "National Day of the 48" for a number of journalists that "the Iraqi compensation mechanism of Kuwait is going on a regular basis," noting that "the Kuwaiti and Iraqi sides met in October 2017 and Agreement on a mechanism that is still in place. "

"If there is another view on the part of the Iraqi side regarding this mechanism and what has been agreed upon, Kuwait is ready to hear that view, but so far we have not heard anything from them," Jarallah said.

The board of directors of Kuwait's General Authority for Appraisal of Compensation estimated on November 8 that the remaining compensation for Kuwait about 4.4 billion dollars and should be paid in the future.
