Foreign Ministry announced the appointment of a soft Iraq {} with Article VII of the International Chemical Weapons Convention.
A statement issued today received and Euphrates News Agency {} a copy of "Permanent Mission of Iraq Permanent Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons succeeded appointed Iraq as facilitator with Article VII of the Convention on chemical weapons after the approval of all States Parties to the WHO Executive Board at its seventy-first held in 19 of the current month. "
"The task of the facilitator include reconcile the obligations of States parties and the requirements of the Convention within the framework of Chapter VII, which is located in the first two major public undertakings of any that each State Party shall adopt and in accordance with its constitutional procedures, the necessary measures to implement its obligations under this Convention."
The statement added that "the task of facilitator to regulate relations between the State party and the organization - should be that each State under the Convention designate or establish a National Authority to serve as a national center for effective liaison with the Organization and other States Parties."
He pointed out that "this achievement, which will be undertaken by the Permanent Mission of Iraq permanent organization will be another success for Iraqi diplomacy in international organizations specializing in weapons of mass destruction and Iraq's desire to promote and support international peace and security."
