Economist: Kurdistan crisis will cause economic contraction

The economic expert, on behalf of Jamil Antoine, Tuesday, that the imposition of economic blockade on the Kurdistan region by Turkey and Iran will have a significant impact on the citizens within the region.
Antoine said in an interview with "Economy News", "The crisis of the referendum in the Kurdistan region will lead to higher prices of food in the northern market after the closure of the border crossings by Baghdad and the threat of Turkey and Iran, too, which will be negatively affected the citizen within the region.
He added that "the region will be trapped economically by stopping the work of investment companies operating in its territory and disputed areas," explaining that "Turkish companies operating in the region may also stop."
He pointed out that "the crisis will cause economic contraction in the region and the center, which makes the citizen thinks of storing the cash mass in anticipation of any emergency may occur."
